 FULANI VIOLENT CONFLICT OUR LONG TERM RESPONSE. As we look at the violent attacks against our Peoples and wonder what to do; I am perplexed by the common opinion of many among our people and leaders that tend to look at the problem as a humanitarian problem that can be solved by the provision of security, putting a stop to the killings and kidnappings. My opinion is however different; the killings and kidnappings are only the symptoms of a much deeper malady. We are confronted by people who have a cultural, economic and religious agenda; violence is one of the instruments they are using to achieve this goal. Peace building experts aim at preventing the use of violence as a means of attaining political, economic, cultural or religious objectives or as a means of addressing injustices or even as a means of social change. E-Mail: conaecda@gmail.com COMMUNITY DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH VICTIMS OF VIOLENT CONFLICTS CONAECDA 2018 approved the observation of the 10 th day of November every year as the Community Day of Solidarity with Victims of Violent Conflicts. 10 th November 2019 is the first time the communities will observe the day. The objectives of setting aside the day includes: 1.       To highlight the plight of Victims still alive. 2.       To remember those killed in the violence. 3.       To celebrate those who sacrificed their lives to save others. 4.       To celebrate those who exhibited heroism in the mist of danger as they promote peace and reconciliation or save the lives of other. 5.       To highlight issues fueling conflicts and help find solutions to them. 6.       To challenge individuals, groups and g
COMMUNIQUÉ AND RESOLUTIONS OF THE CONFERENCE OF AUTOCHTHONOUS ETHNIC-NATIONALITIES COMMUNITIES DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATIONS (CONAECDA) 2018 The CONAECDA 2018 took place under low key arrangements to mourn our Royal Ambassador the Late Agom Adara the III, HRH Maiwada Raphael Galadima, JP, who was brutally murdered on 25 th October 2018 by terrorists. The 2018 Conference was also to commiserate with our various communities where over a thousand people were killed within 12 months since the last conference was held. Community Leaders from various States attended the Conference, along with Volunteers and Staff of the Secretariat who facilitated the Conference. The Conference was declared Open by the Vice President North West Zone, Mr. Emmanuel Dangi, on behalf of the Conference President, Da Ericson Fom, who was unavoidably absent as he is undergoing medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
